Linear Guides Installation Accuracy
Improve the installation accuracy of linear guides

Precision linear guides can be divided into running parallelism, height pairing grading tolerance and width pairing grading tolerance. Running parallelism means that the rail is bolted to the datum surface, the slider on the full length of the guide rail running, the parallelism error between the slider and the guide rail datum surface.

Height pairing grading tolerance is that the maximum and the minimum values difference between the combination in the same plane each slide height dimensions. Width pairing grading tolerance is that the maximum and minimum values difference between each slider on the single guide rail and the guide rail datum surface width dimensions. Different devices can choose different precision of the guide rails.

A method to improve the linear guide installation accuracy, including the following steps: according to the length of the guide rail set corresponding to screws lock tight position pitch of holes, and marking on the levelling ruler the hole distance corresponding point, and measuring the accuracy error of the levelling ruler marked hole distance corresponding point.

The main guide placed in the corresponding screw locking position, then the levelling ruler placed on one side of the main guide, adjust the main guide straightness. The level meter measured the two rail sections on the mail guide rail farthest distance and horizontal tilt angle the same, fixed the two guide rail sections and make marks.

The sub-guide rail installed on the corresponding screw locking position, the levelling ruler placed on the side of the sub-guide rail corresponding screw locking position, base on the two rail segments marked on the main guide, adjust the leveling ruler and the two marked rail segments parallel degree, then the leveling ruler as a benchmark, adjusting the sub-guide rail straightness; the main guide as a benchmark, retest and adjust the parallelism between the sub-guide rail and main guide rail. This method can effectively improve the installation accuracy of the linear guide.
